Have you ever questioned yourself? ”Why you are shy”
Here by using the word shy, I mean feeling uncomfortable, getting blushed, change in behavior facing someone/group of people.
I don’t how much shy you are. But, I will reveal the truth of your shyness. Guaranteed
To be honest with you I am too suffering from the same shy sickness. The degree may vary, I am shy too. This is the why exactly I can tell about your shyness. Before writing this post I have researched myself and noted down all the reasons for my shyness.
This post will show you the reasons for your shyness. And hopefully, you will act on improving yourself. Here we go…
Let me ask a question to myself ”Do I shy all the time?”
The answer is ”No”. Then when I am not shy.
I am not shy when talking to my mother, father, sister and brother.
I am not shy when talking to my friends.
I am not shy when talking to my neighbor. and the list goes on…
This means I am not shy with people whom I know for a long time.
And, This is same with you. ”You are shy with only unknown people’‘
Let me ask myself a second question ” am I shy all the time?”
The answer is ”Nope”
I was not shy during my last viva test.
I was not shy when I presented my science project in front of hundreds of students.
I was not shy doing a weird dance after getting into finals in school table tennis championship.
I was not shy dancing in front of a bunch of people in a bar.
Why I was not in all the above situations. I should have shied as there were many peoples watching me who are unknown to me.
OK, let me answer ”why I was not shy” in all the above situations one by one.
I was not shy during my last viva test because I was totally prepared for my test. I have studied and revised all and ready for facing difficult questions.
I was not shy when I presented my science project in front of hundreds of students as I was too passionate about my science project. It was my design and I wanted to show to others.
I was not shy about my weird dance after getting into finals in school table tennis championship because it was so exciting and I was proud of myself.
I was not shy dancing in front of a bunch of people in a bar because I took more than 4 glasses of whiskey(Here in Guwahati we do not get shots in small vessels, here a glass holds approximately 200 ml, of course with water added).
If you see all the above situations, only one word comes to my mind that is ”Confidence”.
I was confident that I can answer any questions from my syllabus because I prepared it long.
I was confident about my science project that my project is best among all other science projects.
I was confident about myself that if I play well, I may become the table tennis champion.
I was confident about my dance that my dance is the perfect dance moves mankind (hehe). Just joking, I am not even a lower level dancer. But, that alcohol created a mental situation where I was not caring anyone. My confidence level got high. Felt like who is going to say anything to me.
I felt like ”I am the king”. I can do whatever I want.
If I have to sum up in one word I would say it was the CONFIDENCE which kicked all my shyness.
That means we(You and me) are not shy when we are confident about ownself.
Solutions:
Stop judging yourself.
Next time you going to delivering a speech, don’t judge yourself that you are good or bad at public speaking. Just do it.
